VASUNDHRA ABHIYAN by Vayambharati Foundation reflects the Foundation’s deep commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development. Recognizing that a healthy ecosystem is fundamental to public well-being, biodiversity, and long-term resilience, the program adopts a holistic approach to environmental conservation. This Abhiyan focuses on large-scale afforestation, promotion of renewable energy, soil and water conservation, and responsible waste management practices. Through community engagement, capacity building, and collaborative partnerships, the initiative encourages environmentally responsible behaviour and resource-efficient practices. By integrating ecological restoration with grassroots participation, VASUNDHRA ABHIYAN aims to safeguard natural resources and build a sustainable future for generations to come.
Tree Plantation Drives: Actively engaging communities, schools, and local bodies to promote tree plantation initiatives that enhance green cover, combat deforestation, strengthen biodiversity, and foster long-term environmental sustainability.
Renewable Energy: Promoting the adoption of renewable energy through collaboration with communities, authorities, policymakers, and local and international partners to strengthen rural development, enhance energy access, and effectively combat climate change at grassroot level.
Soil And Water Conservation: Promoting soil and water conservation through community participation, scientific practices, and partnerships to protect ecosystems, improve water security, prevent land degradation, and support sustainable livelihoods.
Waste Management: Promoting integrated waste management through community engagement, segregation, recycling, and responsible disposal to reduce pollution, conserve resources, protect public health, and support circular, sustainable economies.
AIR QUALITY NETWORK 360 PROGRAM
Vayambharati Foundation addresses the growing public health and environmental challenge of deteriorating air quality through its flagship initiative, AIR QUALITY NETWORK 360 PROGRAM (AQNet360). The program adopts a comprehensive, data-driven approach to air quality management by deploying advanced Remote Sensing Device (RSD) technologies and monitoring systems. AQNet360 enables continuous, real-time measurement and analysis of key air quality parameters and major pollution contributors, particularly from vehicular and urban sources. The insights generated support evidence-based policymaking, targeted mitigation strategies, and stakeholder collaboration. Through research, technology integration, and policy engagement, the program aims to improve urban air quality, protect public health, and promote sustainable, cleaner cities. AQNet360 empowers policymakers and planners with actionable insights to develop strategies for cleaner air, safer roads, and healthier communities.
AQNet360 program includes following two sub programs REALTIME AIR MONITORING (R.A.M.) Program and REALTIME EMISSIONS OF AUTOMOBILES ON ROAD (R.E.A.R.) Program for 360 degree coverage of the air quality issues:
Realtime Air Monitoring (R.A.M.): R.A.M. is a multiparameter air quality monitoring program that measures multiple ambient parameters like PM1, PM2.5, PM10, CO, CO2, SO2, NO, NO2, O3, and H2S along with Ambient Noise, UV, Temperature, and Humidity through deployment of Remote Sensing Devices in an area. This multiparameter approach provides detailed insights into the environmental health of the application area, making this program ideal for various applications like Industrial hubs and urbans areas.
Realtime Emissions of Automobiles on Roads (R.E.A.R.): R.E.A.R. is a specially tailored program designed for measuring real-time-real-world exhaust emissions from fossil fuel based automobiles. We deploy Remote Sensing Devices to measure emission constituents like PM₂.₅, PM₁₀, NO, NO₂, CO, CO2, HC, and NH₃ while the vehicle is actually running on the road. The RSD measures the spectroscopic absorbance of the emission constituents in IR and UV light and analyze the emissions from tailpipe exhausts, as well as evaporative emissions caused by leaks. Each vehicle record consists of multiple measurements of the plume of gases in less than a second. Emissions are expressed in pollutant ratios to CO2, fuel-specific emissions or even travelled distance emissions (g/km) with appropriate assumptions.
