PRAKRITI SETU PROGRAM
Vayambharati Foundation’s Urban Transformation initiative, Prakriti Setu, is designed to reconnect cities with nature while improving urban livability and resilience. The initiative focuses on developing green corridors, roadside plantations, median gardens, and community eco-parks that enhance city aesthetics, environmental health, and pedestrian safety. By creating shaded, well-designed walkways and green buffers, Prakriti Setu contributes to lowering urban heat, improving microclimates, and strengthening ecological balance. Implemented in collaboration with civic authorities and local communities, the program promotes the use of native, climate-resilient, and low-maintenance plant species.
It also encourages sustainable mobility practices, including low- to zero-emission transportation systems, and the development of community-managed eco-zones. Through integrated planning and community participation, Prakriti Setu aims to foster sustainable, inclusive, and people-centric urban environments.
